With less than 72 hours before No. 17 Ole Miss hosts Arkansas inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium the biggest question looming is the status of Austin Simmons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Rebels quarterback suffered an ankle injury in last Saturday\u2019s 39-23 win at Kentucky. Simmons left the game but did return to take the final snap in a victory formation.<\/p>\n

Rebel Grove reported that Simmons has been in a boot and not practicing this week<\/a> with backup quarterback Trinidad Chambliss taking starter reps.<\/p>\n

The first SEC player availability report of the week was released on Wednesday and Ole Miss designated Simmons as \u201cProbable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the week Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin<\/a> has kept to his usual approach with injuries by not revealing much about Simmons injury and his progress in rehabbing the injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s tough, man, he\u2019s tough, like he\u2019s so mature for his age,\u201d Kiffin said on Sunday<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019ve seen him go in and strike out, what the third pick of the draft in baseball as a freshman. This guy going in Georgia, play the way that he did. He\u2019s built different that way. I wish I would have protected him better early and more efficiency early.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tight end Luke Hasz<\/a> is another Ole Miss player that has a lot of eyes on him when it comes to getting off in the injured list. Kiffin is \u201chopeful\u201d Hasz will make his debut as a Rebel against his former team.<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s report did not include Hasz and former Arkansas, now current Ole Miss, teammate Jaylon Braxton<\/a> is listed as \u201cQuestionable.\u201d The cornerback is another transfer that yet to make his debut as a Rebel. Kiffin commented that Braxton had a \u201cmedical situation\u201d last week that kept him from playing against Kentucky.<\/p>\n
