Baltimore Ravens<\/a>\u00a0quarterback and\u00a0former\u00a0Louisville football<\/a>\u00a0star Lamar Jackson recently commented further on an off-field tangle with a Buffalo Bills<\/a> fan while playing in New York on Sunday, Sept. 7.<\/p>\n

USA TODAY reported that a fan, who has since been banned from NFL stadiums “indefinitely,”<\/a> struck Jackson and teammate DeAndre Hopkins as they celebrated a third-quarter touchdown near the stands at Highmark Stadium. Jackson then\u00a0retaliated with a two-handed shove.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Ravens’ quarterback responded to questions<\/a>\u00a0about the incident on Wednesday, Sept. 10, ahead of the Week 2 game against Cleveland.<\/p>\n

“My apologies to him,” Jackson said. “Just chill next time. You can talk trash and stuff, but keep your hands to yourself.”<\/p>\n

Jackson had previously said after playing the Bills<\/a> that “I just let my emotion get the best of me” and that the fan “probably had a couple of beers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson was also asked about what appeared to be a bottle or can being thrown at Ravens<\/a> running back\u00a0Derrick Henry<\/a>\u00a0during the game.<\/p>\n

Who is Lamar Jackson?<\/p>\n

Jackson, who was drafted to the NFL in 2018,\u00a0previously played football for the University of Louisville<\/a>\u00a0from 2015 to 2017.<\/p>\n

The Courier Journal reported that Jackson\u00a0left an impression on the entire country as one of the best quarterbacks in college football history.<\/a>\u00a0He tallied 13,175 total yards, combined with his rushing and passing yards, along with 69 passing touchdowns and 50 rushing touchdowns during his time in Louisville.<\/p>\n

Jackson was later drafted to the Ravens as a first round pick during the 2018 draft. He marks\u00a0the second first-round draft pick at quarterback in UofL history,<\/a>\u00a0joining Teddy Bridgewater, who was selected in 2014.<\/p>\n
