ENGLEWOOD, Colo. \u2014 A key contributor has returned to practice for the Broncos ahead of a Week 2 game against the Colts.<\/p>\n
Tight end Nate Adkins, who underwent a procedure on his ankle during training camp, was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice.<\/p>\n
Adkins (ankle) had been listed as a nonparticipant in each of the Broncos’ practices since the start of Week 1 and did not play against the Titans. The versatile player suffered his injury during the Broncos’ joint practice against the 49ers on Aug. 7.<\/p>\n
Head Coach Sean Payton previously expressed optimism that Adkins could return before the four-game absence that a stint on injured reserve would have mandated.<\/p>\n
Adkins appeared in all 17 games for the Broncos in 2024, playing 38 percent of Denver’s offensive snaps and 59 percent of the team’s special teams snaps.<\/p>\n
Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (knee) improved to a full participant after he did not practice on Wednesday. Tight end Evan Engram (calf) also improved to a full participant after being limited on Wednesday. Inside linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb) remained a full participant.<\/p>\n
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) was the lone Broncos player who did not practice.<\/p>\n
