PITTSBURGH \u2014\u00a0Four members of the Pittsburgh Steelers did not practice on Thursday as the team continued its preparations to face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 at Acrisure Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Steelers already ruled out strong safety DeShon Elliott (knee) and rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon (knee) against the Seahawks while cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring) and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (rest) were also absent from practice.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, outside linebacker Nick Herbig (hamstring), offensive tackle Calvin Anderson (illness) and outside linebacker T.J. Watt (rest) returned to practice in full.<\/p>\n

DT Derrick Harmon<\/p>\n

Harmon suffered a knee injury during the Steelers\u2019 preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers on Aug. 21. He was\u00a0diagnosed with a right MCL sprain,<\/a>\u00a0and has yet to return to practice since. Harmon missed the team\u2019s Week 1 game against the New York Jets, and has already been\u00a0ruled out for Week 2.<\/a>\u00a0Harmon is expected to ramp up<\/a>\u00a0his physical activity toward a return this week.<\/p>\n

Nick Herbig<\/p>\n

Herbig left the Steelers\u2019 second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a\u00a0hamstring injury<\/a>. He returned to practice in a limited capacity<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Head coach Mike Tomlin said he is\u00a0hopeful that Herbig will play in Week 2.<\/a><\/p>\n

SS DeShon Elliott<\/p>\n

Elliott\u00a0suffered a knee injury<\/a>\u00a0during the Steelers\u2019 Week 1 win over the New York Jets. He did not return to the game and was\u00a0diagnosed with an MCL sprain<\/a>. Elliott has already been\u00a0ruled out for Week 2.<\/a><\/p>\n

CB Joey Porter Jr.<\/p>\n

Porter Jr.\u00a0suffered a hamstring injury<\/a>\u00a0in Week 1 against the New York Jets. Tomlin\u00a0said he was held out as a precaution,<\/a>\u00a0and said he\u2019s hopeful that Porter will be able to play in Week 2, but Porter did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.<\/p>\n

LB Malik Harrison<\/p>\n

Harrison suffered a knee injury<\/a>\u00a0against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was\u00a0placed on the injured reserve list<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and by rule must remain there until Week 7.<\/p>\n

QB Skylar Thompson<\/p>\n

Thompson\u00a0suffered a hamstring injury<\/a>\u00a0in practice leading up to the Steelers\u2019 Week 1 game against the New York Jets, while playing the role of Justin Fields on the Steelers\u2019 scout team offense. He was dressed against the Jets as the emergency third quarterback, but was\u00a0placed on the injured reserve list<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and by rule must remain there until Week 7.<\/p>\n

CB Cory Trice<\/p>\n

Trice suffered a\u00a0hamstring injury<\/a>\u00a0during the team\u2019s Friday Night Lights practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium on Aug. 1. He returned to practice in a limited capacity before being\u00a0placed on the injured reserve list on Aug. 26.<\/a>\u00a0By rule, Trice must spend at least four weeks on the injured reserve list. He is eligible to return in Week 6, after the Steelers\u2019 bye, against the Cleveland Browns. Trice will count as one of the team\u2019s eight IR-return designations, whether he actually returns or not.<\/p>\n

CB Donte Kent<\/p>\n

Kent suffered a right foot\/ankle injury in training camp. He returned to practice in a limited capacity before the team\u2019s cut-down to 53 players on Aug. 26. Kent made the initial roster, but was placed on the injured reserve list the next day. He must miss at least four weeks by rule and is eligible to return in Week 6, after the Steelers\u2019 bye, against the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n

QB Will Howard<\/p>\n

Howard suffered a\u00a0broken right pinky finger<\/a>, during training camp\u00a0practice on Aug. 5.<\/a>\u00a0He made the team\u2019s initial 53-man roster, but was placed on injured on Aug. 27. He must miss at least four weeks and is eligible to return from IR in Week 6, after the Steelers\u2019 bye.<\/p>\n
