Denver Broncos should stay far away from proposed trade idea with Dolphins<\/a> originally appeared on The Sporting News<\/a><\/p>\n

The Miami Dolphins have been connected to trade rumors involving wide receiver Tyreek Hill all offseason. That idea started to gain traction when Hill made these comments<\/a> following the team’s season finale in 2024.<\/p>\n

Hill appears to be the kind of player, like so many wide receivers before him, who is only going to be happy if he is on a championship contender and\/or gets targeted 15 times a week in the passing game. Neither of those is going to happen in Miami this season, where head coach Mike McDaniel seems to be on a sinking ship.<\/p>\n

It was a bit surprising that the Dolphins didn’t trade Hill during the offseason, and it will be an even bigger surprise if he stays in Miami past this season’s trade deadline. Cameras picked up Hill during last week’s blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts and this could become a weekly thing:<\/p>\n

So why would the Denver Broncos<\/a> want to bring this onto their team? Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports<\/a> listed five teams that could acquire Hill, and Denver is near the top of his list.<\/p>\n

“Coach Sean Payton has been\u00a0very complimentary<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0of\u00a0Hill’s football IQ in the past, and it just so happens Denver could still use an added playmaker for young quarterback\u00a0Bo Nix, even with current No. 1 wideout\u00a0Courtland Sutton\u00a0secure on a new contract; tight end\u00a0Evan Engram\u00a0is banged up, and\u00a0Marvin Mims\u00a0Jr. remains unproven as a speedy No. 2 on the perimeter. As a bonus, moving to the Mile High City would allow\u00a0Hill to return to the AFC West for a couple of shots at his old friends, the Kansas City Chiefs”, wrote Benjamin.<\/p>\n

It remains unclear if the Dolphins are even willing to deal Hill, and if they are, what they would want in return. It’s debatable as to whether or not the Broncos need another playmaker, but Hill is not the one they need.<\/p>\n

He hasn’t had a catch for more than 30 yards in over a year and he is now 31 years old. He still possesses elite speed, but he comes with plenty of question marks. How effective will he be at this stage in his career? In addition, there are now new domestic violence allegations<\/a> against him and though they are just that\u00a0\u2014 allegations\u00a0\u2014 he has dealt with abuse allegations in the past.<\/p>\n

The Broncos could potentially be a good fit for him, but the team is building a contender without needing to make what would seem like a bit of a desperate move to add a guy who makes headlines for the wrong reasons much more often than the right ones.<\/p>\n
