The Seahawks are coming off a 17-13 loss as 1-point home underdogs vs. the San Francisco Giants Sept. 7 as the Under (43.5) hit. Seattle led 10-7 at halftime, but was outscored 10-3 in the fourth quarter, including a go-ahead TD from 49ers third-string TE Jake Tonges. QB Sam Darnold went 16-of-23 for 150 yards in his Seahawks debut.<\/p>\n

The Steelers won 34-32 at the New York Jets Sept. 7, but failed to cover as 3-point favorites as the Over (38) cashed. QB Aaron Rodgers went 22-of-30 for 244 yards with 4 TDs and was sacked 4 times in his Steelers debut. PK Chris Boswell kicked a go-ahead 60-yard field goal — the longest of his career — with 1:03 left in the fourth as Pittsburgh rallied from a 9-point third-quarter deficit.<\/p>\n

Their last meeting was a 30-23 Steelers road win Dec. 31, 2023. Pittsburgh covered as a 4.5-point underdog and the Over (41) hit. QBs Mason Rudolph (18-of-24, 274 yards) and Geno Smith (23-of-33, 290 yards, 1 TD) started for the Steelers and Seahawks, respectively.<\/p>\n

The Steelers (-165) scored 34 points in Rodgers’ debut and will likely improve to 2-0 in Week 2, but the straddle is too high in this market.<\/p>\n

PASS on the moneyline.<\/p>\n

Seattle scored just 13 points in Week 1, and Darnold doesn’t look the same without Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell. Darnold threw for just 150 yards with no TDs against the 49ers after passing for 4,319 yards with 35 TDs and 12 INTs last season in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The opposite can be said about Rodgers. After an OK season with the New York Jets in 2024 (3,897 yards, 28 TD, 11 INT, 44.7 QBR), Rodgers threw for 4 TDs and no INTs in Week 1 — something he hadn’t done in a game since Dec. 12, 2021.<\/p>\n

It’s the smallest of sample sizes, but the market may be underestimating both Darnold’s falloff and Rodgers’ comeback.<\/p>\n

BET STEELERS -3 (-110).<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh put up 34 points in Week 1 against a Jets defense that tied with the Denver Broncos for second in opponent yards per play (5.0) in 2024. The concern is that the Seahawks may not contribute enough for the Over to hit, but the Steelers offense could do most of the heavy lifting after an impressive Week 1 — and a disappointing effort from the defense.<\/p>\n
