Several pieces of injury news are coming tonight out of Cincinnati. An optimistic bit, though, has arrived in an update on DE Shemar Stewart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Per<\/a> Jordan Schultz, Stewart, who left today\u2019s win over Jacksonville with a leg injury, is thought \u201cto have avoided anything major\u201d. Nothing official yet on the rookie at defensive end, but Schultz noted that this could end up being a week-to-week designation for him rather than anything more long-term for the Bengals.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources: #Bengals rookie DE Shemar Stewart, who left Sunday\u2019s game with an ankle\/knee injury and was seen on crutches, is believed to have avoided anything major,\u201d Schultz posted this evening. \u201cThe current expectation is it\u2019s a week-to-week injury and he will be back sooner than later.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stewart exited early in the fourth quarter with the ankle\/knee injury. Cincy would go on to win without Stewart, though, or QB Joe Burrow<\/a> either, in a 31-27 victory over the Jaguars, with a go-ahead rushing touchdown with 18 second left by QB Jake Browning<\/a> to win it this afternoon at Paycor Stadium.<\/p>\n

Before leaving the game, Stewart posted a pair of tackles. Those were the first statistics of his professional career after not recording any defensively in their 17-16 divisional win in week one at Cleveland. That\u2019s after Stewart, following a contract dispute on his first deal<\/a> this offseason, was a first-round pick by the Bengals in the 2025 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

More is to come on Stewart\u2019s status going into week three, when Cincinnati plays on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. But, based on early reporting, the Bengals could have their rookie pass-rusher \u201cback sooner than later\u201d.<\/p>\n

Joe Burrow injury update: Bengals QB may miss months, require surgery with Grade 3 turf toe<\/p>\n

Bengals QB Joe Burrow\u00a0could miss a significant amount of time after suffering a toe injury during the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Per\u00a0Adam Schefter of ESPN<\/a>, Burrow could miss three months if surgery is needed on his toe.\u00a0Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network\u00a0<\/a>reported that Burrow suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury, and\u00a0NFL insider Jordan Schultz<\/a>\u00a0said the Bengals will have full details on Monday. Images of Joe Burrow\u2019s left toe injury are being sent to foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson,\u00a0according to Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Burrow suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Bengals\u2019 31-27 victory over the Jaguars. It happened after he was sacked by DE Arik Armstead.<\/a><\/p>\n

Burrow was originally listed as questionable to return to the game after he was sent to the locker room.
