Three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes<\/a> II will be inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame over the weekend. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback will be enshrined with eight others as part of the Class of 2025 Saturday night in Waco, Texas.<\/p>\n

1969 & Before \u2013 Gary Keithley, Alvin HS1970\u2019s \u2013 Pat Thomas, Plano HS1980\u2019s \u2013 Brad Goebel, Cuero HS1990\u2019s \u2013 John C. Norman, Robert E. Lee (Midland)2000\u2019s \u2013 Robert Griffin III, Copperas Cove HS2010\u2019s \u2013 Patrick Mahomes II, Whitehouse HSDave Campbell Contributor of the Game \u2013 David Smoak, MediaEddie Joseph\/THSFHOF Coach \u2013 Jeff Traylor, Gilmer HSEddie Joseph\/THSFHOF Coach \u2013 Curtis Barbay, Newton HS<\/p>\n

Aside from Mahomes, four other honorees played professional football.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes II<\/p>\n

At Whitehouse High School, the three-time Super Bowl champ was considered a 3-star dual-threat recruit. During his senior season in 2013, he put-up incredible numbers with his arm and his legs, passing for 4,619 passing yards with 50 touchdowns and rushing for 948 rushing yards 15 scores.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Robert Griffin III<\/p>\n

Griffin, who won the Heisman Trophy and was the Washington Redskins second round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, was a three-sport (football, basketball, track) athlete at Copperas Cove. He twice led the school to runner-up finishes in the state. He finished his career with 3,357 yards passing with 41 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for a total of 2,161 yards and 32 scores.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Brad Goebel<\/p>\n

In 1986, Goebel led Cuero to a 3A state championship. He spent five years in the NFL as a backup with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Pat Thomas<\/p>\n

Thomas was part of the Plano team that won a state championship in 1971. After playing collegiately at Texas A&M, Thomas was taken by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He was an All-Pro cornerback twice during his seven-year NFL career.<\/p>\n

Below, you can see that Thomas also knew how to kick a ball. The clipping notes that he kicked a game-winning 25-yard field goal in the \u201971 AAA state semifinals with just :21 seconds to play.<\/p>\n

Thomas also a very good running back at Plano.<\/p>\n

Gary Keithley<\/p>\n

Keithley was a quarterback and punter for Alvin High School. The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the second round of the 1973 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
