He became a core specialist team player last season and was a surprising roster casualty during final cuts this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">It was a surprise when Njongmeta didn\u2019t make the final roster. Still, the team opted for Shaka Heyward as the team\u2019s fifth linebacker behind Logan Wilson, Oren Burks, Demetrius Knight, and Barrett Carter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Knight and Carter are rookies, and Wilson is still locked in for a few more seasons, so losing Njongmeta doesn\u2019t sting as badly as it could.
