Rookies <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/team\/players-roster\/nic-scourton\/\" title=\"Nic Scourton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nic Scourton<\/a> and <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/team\/players-roster\/princely-umanmielen\/\" title=\"Princely Umanmielen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Princely Umanmielen<\/a> arrived this week for rookie minicamp. They join a group that includes <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/team\/players-roster\/d-j-wonnum\/\" title=\"D.J. Wonnum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">D.J. Wonnum<\/a>, who was brought in during free agency last season, and <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/team\/players-roster\/patrick-jones-ii\/\" title=\"Patrick Jones II\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Patrick Jones II<\/a>, signed in free agency this spring.<\/p>\n<p>Asked on Friday about moving on from Clowney, coach Dave Canales referenced the two rookie edge rushers and their opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I really appreciate JD,&#8221; Canales said. &#8220;I mean, certainly when you watch the 2024 film, you know, a guy that just gave us everything that he had on the field and so we really appreciate that. And there was a lot of things from a general cap standpoint and things going forward, and about opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re developmentally minded and we understand\u2014we bring two outside linebackers, two edge rushers in, and all those reps are valuable, you know.
