The lack of production from Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown over the first two weeks of the 2025 season has been stunning.<\/p>\n

Brown has just six catches for 35 yards<\/a> in that span, including a one-catch, eight-yard performance in Week 1. Despite that, the Eagles are off to a 2-0 start.<\/p>\n

That has led some to wonder if Brown might be expendable, including Pro Football & Sports Network’s Tim Crean, who named Brown a trade candidate<\/a> for 2025.<\/p>\n

Crean also lists the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders as possible landing spots.<\/p>\n

After a one-target, one-catch, eight-yard performance on the Eagles\u2019 opener, it seems as though\u00a0A.J. Brown\u00a0may no longer be a key piece of the team\u2019s plans this offseason. Despite that performance and percolating rumors, Philadelphia isn\u2019t ready to trade the superstar wideout.<\/p>\n

That said, your best pass catcher pouting \u2014 or worse, reading a book \u2014 on the sidelines is not good for a team or a franchise QB. If Brown continues to be a second, third, or even fourth option in the Eagles\u2019 offense, a trade before the deadline could happen.<\/p>\n

Potential Landing Spots:\u00a0Houston Texans,\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n

To be quite frank, it would be shocking for the Eagles to trade Brown, who is crucial to the team’s bid for a second-straight Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

His production is going to pick up, and unless Brown starts creating a problem in the locker room, there is no need to trade him.<\/p>\n

Trading Brown would leave Philly very short at wide receiver. DeVonta Smith is a fantastic player, but guys like John Metchie III and Jahan Dotson would be very shaky No. 2 and 3 options behind him.<\/p>\n

As far as naming the Texans and Raiders possible landing spots, it makes sense on the surface because both teams could use wide receiver help.<\/p>\n

But acquiring someone like Brown is a move a team makes when it’s one player away, something the Raiders are not. It wouldn’t make much sense to give up the significant draft capital it would take to trade for Brown given their situation.<\/p>\n

The Texans are in a different boat after being a playoff team the last two years, but their biggest problem in the passing attack isn’t a lack of viable pass-catchers, but rather a terrible offensive line.<\/p>\n

Granted, Houston could certainly use Brown, who would amount to a massive upgrade for the offense. However, the Texans will have trouble maximizing the wideout given their protection problems.<\/p>\n
