The Miami Dolphins<\/a> plan to have a chat with the NFL to discuss why a play that appeared to be a fumble by the Buffalo Bills<\/a>‘ Josh Allen was quickly blown dead in a Week 3 game.<\/p>\n

With just a few seconds left in the second quarter of the Dolphins’ Thursday night matchup against the Bills, the Buffalo offense lined up for a quick kneel to send the game to halftime tied, 14-14. But Allen bobbled the snap and Dolphins cornerback Jack Jones raced into the backfield to try to make a play.<\/p>\n

Allen quickly scooped up the loose ball and tossed it to an official after a quick whistle blew the play dead.<\/p>\n

Was Allen’s knee down when he picked up the ball? Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel doesn’t think so.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ll be in talks with the league,” McDaniel said Friday. “I haven\u2019t gotten any feedback yet but live-speed, it appeared to me that it was a fumble. It was of the assumption that it was a clean center-quarterback exchange, but we\u2019ll see how the league rules it.”<\/p>\n

At the time it happened, McDaniel didn’t throw a fit or argue his case to officials. Instead he jogged into the locker room and began preparations for the second half.<\/p>\n

“For me, I really work at not expending emotional energy on past things that I can\u2019t fix,” McDaniel explained. “I\u2019ll get mad on game day if I think whatever I\u2019m getting mad at will have an effect on stuff moving forward, otherwise I don\u2019t think it\u2019s appropriate for everyone to wait around while I have an adult temper tantrum. I ran inside and worked on the plays coming out of the half.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dolphins were later out-scored 17-7 in the second half and lost 31-21.<\/p>\n
