After the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>\u2019 heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, everyone seemed to notice one thing about Jalen Carter\u2019s postgame interview in the locker room: his chain.<\/p>\n

Carter was seen rocking a big chain with a No. 8 pendant, which just happens to be the number Jared Verse wears for the Rams. Naturally, fans began to speculate whether Carter got the chain from Verse in a bet on the game.<\/p>\n

Here’s a video of Carter wearing the chain in the locker room after the Eagles’ 33-26 win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s especially interesting given the pre-game chat these two players had before kickoff in January. Verse did a lap around Lincoln Financial Field before the playoff game and Carter seemed to take issue with it, sharing some words with the Rams edge rusher.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t know what Carter said but Verse responded by saying, \u201cNah, I\u2019ll take that 77K for next round,\u201d hinting at the bonus players receive for reaching the NFC title game.<\/p>\n

As far as we can tell, there\u2019s no visual evidence that the chain belongs (or belonged) to Verse. We can\u2019t find any photos on the internet of Verse wearing it, though that doesn\u2019t mean it wasn\u2019t his.<\/p>\n

What we do know is Carter didn\u2019t get the chain from Verse after Sunday\u2019s game. He was spotted wearing it walking into the stadium, as seen in the third photo in the Eagles’ post below.<\/p>\n

The two players seem to be on perfectly good terms, dapping each other up before Sunday’s matchup. There doesn’t appear to be any bad blood, but that also doesn’t mean there wasn’t a bet on last year’s playoff game that Verse lost.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at their pregame handshake on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Either Verse lost his chain in a bet on the playoff game in January or Carter simply owns a chain with the No. 8. After all, he did wear No. 88 in college and wears No. 98 in the NFL, so it’s possible he just likes the number 8.<\/p>\n

Until we get further clarification from either player, we won’t know the full story. But either way, Carter had the chain on before kickoff so he didn’t get it from Verse this weekend.<\/p>\n
