The Buffalo Bills are the only undefeated team in the AFC East, sitting at 3-0. Meanwhile there is a case to be made that the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and New England Patriots would all be winless at this point if not for the Patriots defeating the Dolphins in Week 2. The lone bright spot is that the Dolphins and Jets will be meeting in week 4 in a \u201cmust see\u201d Monday Night Football matchup where one of these teams will walk away with their first victory.<\/p>\n
The Bills are fortunate to be undefeated, and there\u2019s a little bit of ying and yang at play. The good news is the offense is clicking, having scored at least 30 points in each game so far this season. Quarterback Josh Allen is playing mistake-free football, while running back James Cook is earning every bit of that new contract he received right before the season.<\/p>\n
On the flip side, Buffalo\u2019s defense has left a lot to be desired. The pass rush is still inconsistent, and the run defense remains a concern. At the end of the day the Bills are doing well where it matters most.<\/p>\n
The Jets had quite the eventful Sunday when taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a lackluster effort as the team found themselves trailing in the fourth quarter 23-6. However, a couple stops later and a blocked field goal for a touchdown, the Jets found themselves with a surprising 27-26 lead with a couple minutes to go. That was until quarterback Baker Mayfield led another game-winning drive before the game winning field goal as time expired. Head coach Aaron Glenn is still looking for his first win, but the team shows promise.<\/p>\n
It was a no good very bad day for the Patriots in losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-14. It wasn\u2019t for lack of opportunities as the Pats found themselves in the Steelers\u2019 half of the field multiple times and even down at the goal line. The issue was the team had a total of five turnovers, and that\u2019s just never going to get the job done. The defense tried to do its part but the turnovers were just too much to overcome.<\/p>\n
Something to watch going forward is that quarterback Drake Maye had a play during the game where his head slammed against the turf. Although he wasn\u2019t taken out to perform a concussion test it will be a situation to monitor in the coming days if he\u2019s unable to practice.<\/p>\n
Then there are the Dolphins and, well\u2026 not many people know what\u2019s going on down in Miami. The seat that head coach Mike McDaniel sits on was getting pretty hot heading into the game with Buffalo on Thursday night. Then the Dolphins put in a spirited effort despite the loss \u2014 which was partially due to mental mistakes that could easily be prevented.<\/p>\n
There are rumors that Owner Stephen Ross would move on from McDaniel and even general manager Chris Grier if fans stop coming to the games or if the players aren\u2019t putting in the effort anymore, so time will tell. Miami is very beat up at cornerback but they were able to contain the Bills\u2019 high-powered offense the majority of the second half.
