The New York Giants<\/a> rookies reported to rookie mini-camp on Friday, and fourth-round selection Cam Skattebo spoke with the media for the first time after a practice. Skattebo immediately expressed graciousness with the opportunity when asked about his reaction to the Giants selecting him:<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, as you\u2019ve seen, I cried. This is an awesome place to be,\u201d he said. \u201cDid I expect it to be here? No. But this is where I want to be now, and I love that I\u2019m here. I\u2019ve met new guys throughout the last two weeks, and it\u2019s been awesome.<\/p>\n

An endearing aspect of Skattebo\u2019s personality is his humble nature. He understands that he\u2019s at another level of football, and he has yet to prove anything. When asked about his penchant for consistently finding a chip on his shoulder, Skattebo replied with this:<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many snaps of the NFL have you seen me play? Zero, right? I\u2019ve proved nothing. I\u2019ve proved what I am in college, but I\u2019ve proved nothing at this level. So now where I\u2019m at, I have to prove myself and if that\u2019s for five years or if that\u2019s for 10 years, I\u2019m going to continue to prove myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skattebo discussed his physical nature and how he loves to run over defenders:<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting in the end zone. I mean it feels good when you run somebody over and then get in the end zone. I mean it feels good when you get in the end zone, but imagine running someone over and then running another person over and then getting in the end zone,\u201d he said.I\u201dt\u2019s that much better (laughs). So, it just shows that when you\u2019re physical, it shows the work you put in in the weight room and how much you do to make your game better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skattebo has been impressed by quarterback Jaxson Dart<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s incredibly smart,\u201d Skattebo said. \u201cYou guys will talk to him soon, but I mean, I\u2019ve talked to him the last 24 hours and the kid is incredibly smart. He\u2019s one of the smartest I\u2019ve been around, and he did a great job today with the seven-on-seven play calls, snap counts and all of that, and making sure everybody was in line.
