Just before the Eagles took the field for their Wednesday practice in the rain, they made a flurry of roster moves, putting three players on IR.<\/p>\n
The Eagles placed OLB Nolan Smith, CB Jakorian Bennett and WR Darius Cooper on Injured Reserve. All three players are expected to return around the Eagles\u2019 Week 9 bye week, according to a league source.<\/p>\n
To fill their spots on the roster, the Eagles signed S Marcus Epps, TE Cameron Latu and CB Parry Nickerson. They also signed LB Lance Dixon, CB Eli Ricks and WR Quez Watkins to the practice squad.<\/p>\n
The Eagles will release their first injury report of the week later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Here are some other updates from Wednesday\u2019s practice:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Right tackle Lane Johnson (neck) was at practice with a helmet but clearly not a full participant. Johnson suffered a stinger on the first drive of Sunday\u2019s win and the hope is that he\u2019ll be able to play against the Bucs in Tampa.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll notice that as Johnson took mental reps, Matt Pryor was getting work at right tackle. Pryor initially came into the Rams game for Johnson but eventually Fred Johnson replaced him.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell was not participating in Wednesday\u2019s practice. He did not have a helmet and was a spectator. Meanwhile, fellow starting linebacker Zack Baun had a helmet but was also not participating in individual drills. He had a bulky brace on his left knee.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Cornerback Adoree\u2019 Jackson (groin), who had to leave Sunday\u2019s game in the fourth quarter was practicing on Wednesday. Jackson has been the CB2 opposite Quinyon Mitchell in the nickel package for the first three weeks of the season. With Bennett now on IR, Kelee Ringo will presumably get bumped up the depth chart.<\/p>\n
\u2022 RB Will Shipley (oblique) and QB Tanner McKee (right thumb) were both practicing again on Wednesday. Both players were inactive against the Rams, although McKee served as the emergency quarterback.<\/p>\n
