FRISCO \u2014 There\u2019s inherently more involved in this Sunday\u2019s game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. <\/a>Reunions will have that effect. <\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t mean Cowboys defensive tackle Kenny Clark<\/a> has to participate in it, however.<\/p>\n

Clark, like Micah Parsons,<\/a> is playing a team he was on just a month ago. But Clark, unlike Parsons, hasn\u2019t drawn the same intrigue or headline worthiness that his counterpart has so far. Clark is OK with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt ain\u2019t that serious,\u201d Clark said when asked if Sunday\u2019s game offers potential closure. \u201cI\u2019m here to help the Cowboys get a win. It\u2019s football at the end of the day. I ain\u2019t [trying] to make it bigger than it is. I\u2019m definitely excited, I\u2019m definitely ready to go, and I\u2019m going to prepare my [butt] off to get a win and kick [butt] on Sunday. As far as all that other stuff, I don\u2019t care about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Getting a win won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n

While the Cowboys\u2019 defense has struggled,<\/a> the Packers\u2019 defense has excelled. They\u2019re first in the NFL in points allowed per game (14.7). The Cowboys, meanwhile, are ranked 27th in the league, allowing an average of 30.7 points per game. The Packers are favored by nearly a touchdown.<\/p>\n

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones<\/a> was quick to say that the team is better off in the present and in the future without Parsons. Through three weeks, it\u2019s been hard to argue for that, especially when compared with how Parsons and the Packers have done.<\/p>\n

Clark hasn\u2019t been the problem with the Cowboys\u2019 defense, however. Clark is third on the team in overall defensive grade, per Pro Football Focus. He was brought in to help the Cowboys stop the run. He\u2019s been successful in that. In addition, he also leads the team in pressures, per PFF, with nine.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, we\u2019re trying to get to 1-0 [this week],\u201d Clark said. \u201cIt\u2019s not about me; it\u2019s about the Cowboys getting a win.\u201d<\/p>\n

While his focus remains on the field, and while he doesn\u2019t want to pour too much into the off-the-field storylines, Clark does understand that external factors do exist. He spent nine years in Green Bay after they selected him in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft. He recalled on Wednesday the shock of when that ended, saying he even fist-bumped Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst shortly before he found out he was being traded to Dallas. <\/a>He said he had one phone call with Packers defensive lineman Colby Wooden, a friend of his, but that\u2019s been the extent of his connection with his old team.<\/p>\n

Clark said he also doesn\u2019t have any plans to connect with his former teammates or coaches before the game, but he would be open to saying hello before they play on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really talk too much before the game,\u201d Clark said. \u201cThose guys know that. I know they\u2019re over there locked in and I\u2019m locked in. We\u2019ll see each other Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parsons will see familiar faces on Sunday, too. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he\u2019s looking forward to seeing him, even if Parsons\u2019 pass-rushing potential is already keeping him up at night.<\/p>\n

Jones said he doesn\u2019t plan to add to the pageantry of the reunion on game day, however. He said it wouldn\u2019t be \u201cappropriate\u201d to do a tribute to Parsons,<\/a> who was a Pro Bowl selection in all four years he was here.<\/p>\n

Parsons spoke Wednesday, too, and was asked about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of things I can consider disrespectful throughout this process,\u201d Parsons told reporters<\/a>, referring to the back-and-forth negotiation that ultimately ended in him being traded to Green Bay, \u201dbut I wouldn\u2019t say the tribute is one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark was even asked on Wednesday if he feels like a \u201cforgotten man\u201d in all of the pregame discourse.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s up to whoever,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s on everybody else. Like I said, I\u2019m here to win.\u201d<\/p>\n
