On Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams Show,”<\/a> Jaguars<\/a> defensive tackle Arik Armstead <\/a>opened up about the toe injury to Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> quarterback Joe Burrow that he suffered against Jacksonville in Week 2.<\/p>\n

“I love Joe Burrow,” Armstead said. “Joe Burrow is a top-five quarterback in my eyes. The NFL is better when Joe Burrow is out there. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and competitor. I want him to be out there.”<\/p>\n

Armstead recorded his first sack of the season against Cincinnati’s signal caller, a tackle that could alter the course of the Bengals’ 2025 season.<\/p>\n

On a second down and 20, early in the second quarter, Burrow dropped back to pass and was draped by Armstead for a five-yard loss.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t do anything to Joe Burrow,” Armstead told Adams before reluctantly doubling back.<\/p>\n

“I did have a hand in it, but I didn’t have my hand on the foot that got hurt.”<\/p>\n

Armstead had a hold of Burrows’ right ankle, but it was his left toe that suffered the injury, which reportedly ruled him out for three months.<\/p>\n

“It’s unfortunate that I had somewhat of a hand in it because I really want him to be out there,” Armstead said.<\/p>\n

While Armstead recognized that social media had a frenzy with his tackle that sidelined Cincinnati’s franchise quarterback, he also understands that injuries are a part of the game.<\/p>\n

“At the end of the day, I want to play football, and if you could remove injuries, this would be God’s gift to earth,” Armstead said.<\/p>\n
