FRISCO \u2014 One of the positives with the Cowboys\u2019 offense is the running game.<\/a> The running attack is averaging 5.4 yards per carry, second in the NFL and 11th overall at 125 yards per game.<\/p>\n

Lead running back Javonte Williams<\/a> is off to a career-best start. He\u2019s averaging 75.5 yards per game after the first three weeks of the season. Williams averages 46 yards per game in his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely feel like I\u2019m running like I was in my rookie year,\u201d Williams said, referring to 2021. \u201cI feel like I got a little bit more knowledge on the way the plays are blocked up, the scheme, I feel like it\u2019s really making the game slow down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams is almost three years removed from a torn ACL suffered in the fourth game of the 2022 season.<\/a> He said it would take almost a year after surgery to feel completely normal. And in 2025, he\u2019s displaying that especially when it comes to contact.<\/p>\n

Williams isn\u2019t afraid to go against contact, something the Cowboys are relishing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel like if that\u2019s a last resort, that\u2019s what I got to do,\u201d Williams said of running through defenders. \u201cIf I can juke somebody, I really rather juke somebody. But I mean, sometimes it just happens. I don\u2019t have no other choice but go straight.\u201d<\/p>\n
