FRISCO \u2013 Cowboys <\/a>fifth-round pick, running back Jaydon Blue<\/a> has been inactive the first three weeks of his rookie season with good reason.<\/p>\n

The production of starter Javonte Williams<\/a> and backup Miles Sanders, is part of a group that\u2019s averaging 125 yards per game, which limits whether Blue can get on the field. <\/p>\n

Also, it\u2019s a numbers game as filling special teams spots and going deeper in the secondary that\u2019s dealt with injuries, has impacted Blue becoming active on game days. In the loss at Chicago last week, the Cowboys went short along the offensive line, going with just two interior linemen in TJ Bass and Hakeem Adeniji, over adding another guard\/center such as Trevor Keegan, who was inactive. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe challenged him,\u201d Schottenheimer said. \u201cWe talked to him about consistency, working harder on the scout team and things like that, man it\u2019s huge. Give him credit, he\u2019s been terrific.\u201d<\/p>\n
