After putting forth two competitive efforts against the Cardinals and 49ers to start the year, they got their doors blown off by Sam Darnold and co, to the tune of a 44 to 13 shellacking.

The Saints’ season isn’t just off track—it’s off the rails—and, honestly, I’d be surprised to see things get any better without getting worse first… which should be a scary proposition for the fans down in the Big Easy.

Atlanta FalconsNov 10, 2024; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; Detailed view of the Atlanta Falcons helmet against the New Orleans Saints during the second half at Caesars Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-Imagn Images

Nobody in football is blitzing more than the Falcons… unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be paying off for them, at least not against more seasoned competition.

They were successful against a first-year starter in J.J. McCarthy in Week 2, but Atlanta hasn’t looked great beyond that.

Especially with that humiliating 30 to 0 loss within the division to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3… Yikes. It isn’t like the Panthers were playing particularly good football coming in either…

While the defense was a mess, continually getting burned on its over aggressive play, the real story through three weeks has been the cause for concern around Michael Penix Jr., the team’s young quarterback, who looks to be regressing.

And with a serious test looming in the form of games against the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills, the Falcons could be in bigger trouble than one embarrassing loss would signal.

Even in an uninspiring NFC South, it looks like it could be all she wrote for the Falcons in 2025.

Las Vegas RaidersAug 23, 2024; Paradise, Nevada, USA; A Las Vegas Raiders Riddell speedflex helmet on the field at Allegiant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders are making a habit of getting buried early.

Through three weeks, they’re the eight worst in the NFL in first-half points allowed at 15.7 per game, and third worst in total yards surrendered at 214. That’s not “bend but don’t break.” That’s bend, snap, and head to the locker room at halftime with the game hanging in the balance already…

Sunday against Washington, it was downright ugly. The Commanders hung 20 points and rolled up 259 yards in the first two quarters alone, 174 of those on the ground. By the time the second half rolled around, the damage was already done. And this isn’t a one-off — this is a trend that’s defining the start of Pete Carroll’s first full year in charge.

And that is with a superstar in Maxx Crosby basically playing every snap!

Carroll was hired to bring structure, swagger, and a backbone to a franchise that’s been drifting for years, but it is looking like the same old Raiders.

It looks like the Silver and Black are still searching for an identity in Sin City beyond Crosby’s relentless motor, and until they can stop bleeding yards and points before halftime, they’ll keep asking their offense to climb out of holes it isn’t equipped to escape.

If they aren’t careful, it isn’t just games they are going to lose… as a competitor like Crosby has to be growing tired of the losing.

New York JetsAug 17, 2024; Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; New York Jets helmets during the second half against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before… the New York Jets’ season is over before it has really even gotten a chance to get started.

Hopefully, Jets fans can be patient with first-year head coach, Aaron Glenn, who walked into a cursed franchise with a porous roster…

But, man, it has been a tough start to the year.

As if it weren’t bad enough to come into the season with Justin Fields as the “answer” at quarterback, then you lose him and have to start trekking down the depths charts just two weeks into the year.

Fortunately, they had a proven journeyman in Tyrod Taylor to turn to, but he isn’t exactly the kind of guy that is going to renew hope in a fanbase that is desperate for a playoff appearance.

New York has also endured to gut wrenching losses to go with the thorough beating it took from Buffalo in Week 2… They are started off the year losing a nail biter to the Steelers 34 to 32—then, following the aforementioned beatdown from Buffalo, they lost one of the most painful games in recent memory.

The Jets forged a massive comeback against Baker Mayfield and the Bucs… marching back from 23 to 6 to take the lead in the final minutes of the game on a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown—only to have Mayfield lead a game-winning drive in the final minute of regulation to push the Jets down to 0 and 3, effectively killing their NFL season in cold blood.

Tennessee TitansAug 25, 2024; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; Detailed view of the Tennessee Titans helmet against the New Orleans Saints during the first half at Caesars Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans were always going to be walking a fine line in 2025 — a relatively inexperienced NFL head coach in Brian Callahan… and a nepo-baby at that, a rookie quarterback in Cam Ward, and an offensive line that’s been a sore spot for years…

Three weeks in, it looks like the straw has landed on the camel’s back and it has broken.

The one silver lining for Titans fans so far is that Ward has shown some flashes when he’s gotten enough time to actually look downfield, but those moments have been few and far between because the line has been that bad.

He’s completing under 55 percent of his passes through three weeks as a result and the Titans offense has not been able to sustain drives with any consistency… leaving their offense in the bottom 5 in most categories across the league.

The defense isn’t much better in its own right. Through three weeks they ranked 31st in points allowed and 27th in yards…

And fans are starting to get impatient with Callahan… as they should—I mean, this feels like more of the same. The system lacks creativity, and the team isn’t even disciplined! They have already committed 31 penalties this year—17 more than their opposition.

It is tough to win games that way.

After watching the way that the Colts ran roughshod on them in Week 3, when Jonathan Taylor and the Colts ran them off their own field 41–20 to drop Tennessee to 0–3.

That wasn’t a puncher’s chance loss; it was a wire-to-wire thumping that told you exactly where this roster is in 2025.

It is safe to say that the 2025 season’s focus should shift to keeping Ward healthy and fostering his development… any hope of competing in his rookie year is GONE.

Cincinnati BengalsDec 1, 2024; Cincinnati, Ohio, USA; A general view of the helmet of Cincinnati Bengals long snapper Cal Adomitis (48) during warmups before the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paycor Stadium. He is the kind of quarterback that changes everything for a team—and they looked lost without him in Week 3, taking a humiliating 48 to 10 faceplant at home against a Carson Wentz-led Minnesota Vikings team…

Yes, no Burrow is an obvious factor, but this was easily one of the worst losses in Bengals history—and a clear indicator of which direction their season is going.

They are still 2 and 1, which is not nothing, but based on how they looked with Jake Browning under center—and with a couple of tough matchups approaching, heading to Denver, hosting the Lions, and then shipping out to Green Bay—this one could start to get away from Cinci fast.

New York GiantsOct 28, 2024; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA; New York Giants helmets on the sidelines against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the third quarter at Acrisure Stadium. Not since that ill-fated success story with Daniel Jones back in 2022, which feels like a lifetime ago at this point!

New York is in big trouble… Russell Wilson looks washed up under center—and fans are already calling for Jaxson Dart, who, based on his profile coming into the league as a rookie, likely needs more time to grow into a pro.

Even more concerning, their defense, which many expected to be a strong suit thanks to that beastly front seven, has not been up to par.

The Giants are stuck at 0 and 3 and looked lifeless in their Week 3 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Safe to say this one is a wrap.

Miami DolphinsAug 3, 2022; Miami Gardens, Florida, US; A general view of a Miami Dolphins helmet on the field during training camp at Baptist Health Training Complex. Mandatory Credit: Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

It is tough to have a worse vibe than the Dolphins do down in South Beach through three weeks of the 2025 NFL season.

So far, they rank dead last in the league in turnover differential, with their D not having forced a single one, and Tua Tagovailoa up to his usual antics, failing to take care of the ball properly.

To their credit, they looked surprisingly competent against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, despite most people thinking they were going to get molly-wopped coming into the contest…

Though—it really felt like a last gasp… like that was their final punch and now the Fins will be resigned to taking their lumps for the remainder of the season.

Don’t be surprised if this one turns belly-up in a big way soon.

Mike McDaniels seems to have lost the locker room, and there is a high probability that he will get the axe. The front office will turn its attention to the future and start selling off its assets, cough, cough, Tyreek Hill, sooner rather than later.

Houston TexansAug 9, 2024; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA; A Houston Texans helmet sits on the sidelines during the 4th quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Barry Reeger-USA TODAY Sports

Houston… we have a problem…. and a coaching cliché that isn’t cliché right now: “It’s not about being close.” DeMeco Ryans said it and he’s right. The Texans have now taken three one-score losses, which, for those keeping score at home, add up to 0 – 3 just the same—and their season is on life support.

The mistakes keep playing on repeat… the late-game execution and lack of urgency in the red-zone. The team just doesn’t look like a serious playoff contender.

Even with the defense playing well, the offense can’t seem to do its part. What makes it all the more concerning for Houston is that their “franchise quarterback,” C.J. Stroud, doesn’t seem to be rebounding from his sophomore slump.

He completed just 25 of 38 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown to two interceptions in the 17 to 10 let-down loss in Jacksonville during Week 3.

Again, the defense played well enough, but the offense couldn’t finish… It has been the same story every week, as they’ve only allowed 41 total points thus far, which makes the brutal start all the more frustrating for fans and players alike.

Dallas CowboysDallas Cowboys helmets (Photo via Geoff Burke-Imagn Images)

No Micah Parsons… no problem… that is what Jerry Jones was preaching going into the 2025 NFL season, and, wow, he could not have been more wrong.

Through three weeks the Cowboys sit at 1 and 2 and barely snuck out their lone win in a back and forth, sloppy slugfest, against their lowly rival, the New York Giants.

The defense has been a huge problem too… They have allowed so many big plays… 13 pass plays of 25 yards or more—including five touchdowns!

Some of that falls on the secondary, yes, but don’t you think that could’ve been mitigated if they had an all-world pass rusher getting after the opposing QB? Smart money says duh!

Dallas got humiliated in Week 3 by a 0-2 Chicago team, and it is starting to look like another lost year in Big D.

The post 10 NFL Teams Whose 2025 Seasons Are Over Already originally published on Total Pro Sports.

[2076
69365,787,7,4247,896,55,2572,2571,9666,6,397,54402
0":"post-401350","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-orleans-saints","8":"tag-10-nfl-teams-whose-2025-seasons-are-over-already","9":"tag-breaking-news","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-local-news","12":"tag-new-orleans","13":"tag-new-orleans-saints","14":"tag-neworleans","15":"tag-neworleanssaints","16":"tag-newsbreak","17":"tag-nfl","18":"tag-saints","19":"tag-total-pro-sports
["GET
