A&M benefitted from Georgia’s loss to Alabama, LSU’s loss at Ole Miss and Penn State’s double-overtime loss at home to Oregon.

Ohio State remains at number one in the AP poll, followed by Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss and Oklahoma.

Aggies add second commit to 2027 class

Little Rock (Ark.) Robinson cornerback Hakim Frampton showed a flair for the dramatic yesterday, committing to Texas A&M immediately after the Aggies finished off Auburn 16-10. Frampton, a longtime A&M lean, was suspected to be a potential commit before the weekend and proved prognosticators right. We’ll have more on the 5-foot-10, 150-pound corner early in the week.

Auburn win boosts defense in national rankings

Texas A&M’s near complete shutdown of Auburn’s offense certainly showed up in the NCAA’s statistical rankings, as the Aggies shot up the list in several major categories. A&M held Auburn to 177 yards of total offense for the game, 72 in the second half and just 1 yard of offense in the fourth quarter.

A&M jumped 30 spots in scoring defense, 31 spots in total defense (66th to 35th), 30 spots in rushing defense (72nd to 42nd) and from 68th to 49th in passing defense. The Aggie defense is now in the top 10 in both sacks and tackles for loss.

Volleyball continues hot start to SEC play with sweep of Vandy

Before the third-largest crowd to watch a volleyball match in Texas A&M history, the No. 13 volleyball team dispensed with visiting Vanderbilt without much trouble 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15).

The Aggies (10-2, 2-0 SEC) spotted the Commodores (4-7, 0-2 SEC) an early lead, then turned it on with a 6-2 run to take a 21-15 lead and take the first set. Vanderbilt never seriously challenged A&M in the final two sets, as A&M took the lead early and never relinquished it.

Logan Lednicky led the Aggies with 15 kills, while Maddie Waak racked up 37 assists.

Next up for the Aggies, who have won five matches in a row, is a midweek trip to Columbia to play South Carolina and a Sunday match in Tuscaloosa against Alabama.

Aggies in the NFL

Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk caught 3 passes for 20 yards as the Texans shut out Tennessee 26-0 for their first win of the season.

Philadelphia Eagles punter Braden Mann punted seven times for an average of 51.9 yards per kick with a long of 63 yards as the Eagles held off the Tampa Bay Bucs 31-25. Wide receiver Mike Evans did not play for Tampa.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett had 2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 2 quarterback hits in the Browns’ 34-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Carolina Panthers defensive end Nic Scourton had 3 tackles, including a tackle for loss, in the Panthers’ 42-13 loss to New England. Defensive tackle Bobby Brown III also added 2 tackles.

Jacksonville Jaguars safety Antonio Johnson had 5 tackles in a 26-21 win over San Francisco.

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Shemar Turner picked up his first two tackles as a pro, including a tackle for loss, as the Bears beat the Las Vegas Raiders 25-24. Bears wide receiver Jahdae Walker also had a tackle on special teams.

Green Bay linebacker Edgerrin Cooper had 4 tackles in the third quarter of the Packers game against the Dallas Cowboys. Safety Donovan Wilson had 1 tackle for the Cowboys.

Owned by two Texas Aggie lettermen, Crystal Creek Partners specializes in commercial and residential real estate properties in the College Station area.
