Jay Cutler, the former NFL quarterback who was married to Kristin Cavallari, is behind bars in Tennessee<\/a> to serve a DUI sentence.<\/p>\n

Cutler, 42, was booked into Williamson County Jail on Monday morning to serve four days in jail after pleading guilty last month to a count of misdemeanour DUI.<\/p>\n

The charge against Cutler comes from an incident in October 2024, when he was arrested for allegedly rear-ending another vehicle in Franklin, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

At the time of the incident, cops said Cutler had bloodshot eyes, was slurring his words and smelt of alcohol<\/a>. Police also claimed that Cutler refused a field sobreity test and had two firearms in his car.\u00a0According to an arrest affidavit, Cutler also offered the other driver $2,000 to not call the police and to let him drive away.<\/p>\n

But in August, Cutler pleaded guilty to driving under the influence as part of a deal that saw authorities drop the charges over possession of a firearm. He was also told to pay a $350 fine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cutler and Cavallari divorced in April 2020 after seven years of marriage and three children together –\u00a0Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, nine.<\/p>\n

Ever since then, they have continued to exchange shots at each other in a messy public split.<\/p>\n

Just last month, Cutler hit out at Cavallari for saying she ‘never got a penny’ after they broke up in 2020.<\/p>\n

Asked about her comments while appearing on the Take It Outside podcast, he said: ‘I think it\u2019s reckless.\u00a0I think it\u2019s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘It\u2019s insanity and it\u2019s completely false, completely untrue.\u00a0I hate that I even have to address it, honestly.’<\/p>\n

Cutler earned\u00a0approximately $128 million during his 12-year NFL career and added that there was ‘not a judge in the state of Tennessee’ that would have allowed him to ‘keep every single dollar’ after their divorce.<\/p>\n

In his fiery response, Cutler didn’t say what figure Cavallri got from the split but continued: ‘I’ve got a divorce decree. I’ve got something that’s signed by the judge -it’s, like, 67 pages [and] it says the number breakdown.’<\/p>\n

Cutler had the NFL at his feet in 2006 when he was taken in the first round by the Denver Broncos, playing three seasons before being traded to the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

And it was there where he really made his name. To this day, he remains the organization’s leading passer with 23,443 yards and recorded 154 touchdowns with the team.<\/p>\n

The couple have publicly feuded ever since their divorce, which was finalized in 2022<\/p>\n

In the NFL, Cutler is best known for his time as the quarterback for the Chicago Bears<\/p>\n

He never made it to a Super Bowl but in his only playoff appearance, Cutler led the Bears to the NFC championship game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His career ended in 2017 with the Miami Dolphins, a year after he had departed the Bears.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Cutler leaves jail, he will be on unsupervised probation for one year and must attend a DUI safety class.<\/p>\n
