NEW ROADS, La. (Louisiana First) \u2014 Patrick Queen has officially left his mark in Livonia.<\/p>\n
The former LSU football player, now a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, got his come-up playing at several schools in Louisiana, including his alma mater.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust knowing that kids now would be able to come on his field and see my name is crazy,\u201d said Queen.<\/p>\n
He then made his way to LSU, showcasing his talent, which took him to the NFL.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust growing up in this parish, seeing a football player before me really motivated me and made me play better. Now, just being able to be one of those, you know, faces that the kids can look up to now. It\u2019s definitely a crazy feeling,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Now he\u2019s back to his roots and has had the chance to witness the reveal of a stadium named in his honor. The stadium, now called the Patrick Queen Stadium, is used by Livonia High School and STEM Magnet Academy of Point Coupee. He said he\u2019s humbled by the gesture.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething like this, I guess, from being from a small place, I just don\u2019t really dream of something this big. Like I said, you love the game. You play it because you love it. Seeing this moment, I just hope it\u2019s motivation for the kids coming up to know that they can do that, too,\u201d said Queen.<\/p>\n
Dozens across the community, including students, staff, and his family, came in support. Queen said it\u2019s important to know where you come from and always leave your mark.<\/p>\n
\u201cDream big and go for it. Keep going in life for every single day, chasing dreams no matter how big they are and letting nobody deter you from that and chase it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Livonia High School officially retired Queen\u2019s jersey. He was number 8.<\/p>\n
