\u201cI just want that band back really bad,\u201d Joey Masters told Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV<\/a> on Monday, Sept. 29. The swiper in question is a woman who was dubbed \u201cKansas City Karen\u201d after she pried the memento away from him as Mahomes met with fans after the Chiefs beat the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 21.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n He recalled the incident to the station \u2014 and how the woman, later identified as Nina Miller, took the game-worn item.<\/p>\n \u201cPatrick Mahomes walked over to me, locked eyes with me, tries to give me his headband,\u201d Masters, who was celebrating his birthday that day, said. \u201cAnd the woman just swoops in and snatches it from me.\u201d<\/p>\n In a viral video shared on social media, Miller, who was wearing Giants gear, was seen taking the headband out of the boy\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n Miller, a mother, bragged about getting the headband in a lengthy video on TikTok<\/a> explaining herself.<\/p>\n Elsa\/Getty<\/p>\n Patrick Mahomes gives his headband to fans on Sept. 21<\/p>\n The interaction did not sit well with Masters\u2019 mother.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cIt was such a great day,\u201d Mindy Masters told KCTV. \u201cThe players were amazing with us, the fans were, and just to have one person swoop in and take that from him is heartbreaking for a mother to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n In a second TikTok days later<\/a>, Miller dialed down her excitement about getting the headband.<\/p>\n “I just want to talk to you guys for one minute from my heart,” Miller said. “At the game, with all the noise and all the excitement, I honestly thought that Pat Mahomes was giving me the headband. I reached for it without thinking.”<\/p>\n Miller added that she \u201cfelt horrible\u201d about the outcome.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n “I’m sorry that I ruined your moment.
