The Washington Commanders have signed veteran offensive tackle Tyre Phillips to their roster. He was previously one of the players team brought in for a tryout during rookie minicamp.<\/p>\n
Phillips, a third-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, has appeared in 47 games with 28 starts. He was most recently a member of the New York Giants in 2024 and played in three games with one start, which came during the season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n
Phillips started his college career at East Mississippi Community College before committing to Mississippi State. He was a rotational player at the beginning of his stint with the Bulldogs but started the entire 2019 season.<\/p>\n
Phillips spent two seasons with the Ravens and was released ahead of the 2022 season.
