The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> left Jacksonville on Monday night with a devastating loss, now 2-3 to start the 2025 season. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed his team’s performance and the thirteen penalties they incurred during his postgame press conference.<\/p>\n

“We obviously had thirteen penalties. (To) Their four. Whether I agree with them (or not), it doesn’t matter. They call them,” said Reid. “So, you have that many penalties; you give up field position, and you can outstat them to death. But it doesn’t matter. It’s the score that matters, and we’ve got to take care of business there.”<\/p>\n

Kansas City’s 13 penalties included four on special teams, with one notable instance by Jack Cochrane on the last kickoff return, which halted the Chiefs in crucial field position.<\/p>\n

“As much as these losses hurt, and the wins, there’s always good and bad, in each things you can learn from and move forward with.” said Reid, “We’ve got to make sure we do that, but we’ve got to be more disciplined with penalty part of it, and then I’ve got to, obviously evaluate those and go from there.”<\/p>\n

The pass interference in the end zone that set up Trevor Lawrence’s game-winning touchdown run was another detrimental self-inflicted error.<\/p>\n
