Akron (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit<\/a> four-star wide receiver Milan Parris<\/a> has decommitted from Iowa State<\/a>, he tells me for Rivals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parris was an early commit for the Cyclones pledging to be part of their class on January 26, 2025. The big-bodied wideout was the highest-rated commit in the Iowa State class. He had Power-4 offers from Cincinnati<\/a>, Kentucky<\/a>, Purdue<\/a> and Wisconsin<\/a> at the time of his commitment.<\/p>\n

But since then he\u2019s stayed a coveted prospect by other schools. Illinois<\/a>, Maryland<\/a>, Miami<\/a>, Michigan State<\/a>, Oklahoma and Oregon have offered post-commitment. There could be even more schools to follow now that he\u2019s opening his commitment to explore his options further.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parris has been very open to speaking with Miami to get to know them better. The Hurricanes also stopped by his school last month. But it\u2019s not just the Hurricanes heavily involved here. Parris took an official visit to Oklahoma the weekend of Oct. 4<\/p>\n

Parris will also take an unofficial visit to Miami<\/a> on Oct. 25 when the Hurricanes take on Stanford.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason I want to check out Miami is they showed a great amount of love,\u201d he said. \u201cThe culture down there seems great and the coaches<\/p>\n

He may also take a separate trip to Miami just to check it out during the Hurricanes\u2019 bye week.<\/p>\n

As a junior last year, Parris caught 28 passes for 597 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged just about 21.3 yards per reception. The wide receiver has led his Walsh Jesuit squad to a perfect 4-0 start to the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Iowa State suffers another loss<\/p>\n

Coach Matt Campbell<\/a>\u2019s program is known for being early on recruits and having a good eye for talent. But it becomes an issue later on in the recruitment when other schools get involved to poach Iowa State\u2019s commits.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the third decommitment of the cycle for Iowa State and all three were big wins for the Cyclones when they committed. Parris joins four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla <\/a>(Alabama) and three-star safety Brayden Thomas<\/a> (Michigan State) as players to leave the class.<\/p>\n
