NFL wild-card playoff picks: Consider Eagles, Commanders and Vikings<\/p>\n

This is what the NFL builds to all fall. Wild-card weekend is here, with six games spread across three days, beginning Saturday. But Sunday’s schedule<\/a> features the most football, with the potential for 11 hours of near-continuous playoff action.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Bills<\/a> host the Denver Broncos<\/a> in the first of three Sunday wild-card games, with the potential for snow in the forecast. MVP candidate Josh Allen<\/a> has the Bills<\/a> in the playoffs for the sixth straight season and he’s won four straight postseason games in the wild-card round. The Bills will be facing rookie quarterback Bo Nix<\/a>, who helped the Broncos<\/a> exceed expectations in coach Sean Payton’s second season in Denver.<\/p>\n

The late afternoon game is the first of two rematches from the opening week of the 2024 regular season. The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> will host the Green Bay Packers<\/a> after the two teams met in Brazil in Week 1<\/a>. The Eagles<\/a> are expected to have quarterback Jalen Hurts<\/a> back after he missed the past two games with a concussion suffered on Dec. 22. Packers<\/a> quarterback Jordan Love<\/a> is also hopeful to play, according to coach Matt LaFleur, after leaving Green Bay’s regular-season finale early with an elbow injury.<\/p>\n

The Washington Commanders<\/a> and Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> wrap up Sunday’s wild-card action with the Commanders<\/a> seeking a long-awaited playoff win and the Buccaneers<\/a> trying to advance to the divisional round for the fourth time in five years. Washington last made the NFL postseason during the 2020 season, when it lost<\/a> to the eventual Super Bowl champion Buccaneers led by Tom Brady. The Commanders haven’t advanced in the playoffs since defeating Tampa Bay<\/a> in the 2005 wild-card round.<\/p>\n
