Injuries have plagued the Washington Commanders<\/a>‘ wide receiver room since the second week of the 2025 season, and for the third straight week, it is trending that Washington’s WR1 will be inactive against the Chicago Bears<\/a> this Sunday.<\/p>\n

Terry McLaurin is listed on Washington’s injury report with a quad injury, which has sidelined him for Weeks 4 and 5 of the season. He did not practice on Thursday or Friday, and seems to be leaning towards missing his third consecutive game.<\/p>\n

Through the first three games of the season, Washington’s veteran receiver tallied 10 receptions for 149 yards, but has not been on the field since the Commanders<\/a>‘ Week 3 win against the Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n

Fellow receivers Noah Brown and Deebo Samuel are also listed as “limited” on Washington’s injury report.<\/p>\n

Brown has been dealing with a groin\/knee injury since Week 3 of the NFL season, when he sat out the Commanders’ matchup with the Raiders, and now has the potential to miss his fourth consecutive game of the season.<\/p>\n

He has tallied three catches for 36 yards in the two games he has played in this year.<\/p>\n

Samuel is on the injury report for the second consecutive week. He suffered a heel injury in the Commanders’ Week 4 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. While he missed practice time last week, he played in Week 5 against the Chargers, catching eight passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. After not practicing on Thursday, Samuel returned as a limited participant in Friday’s practice, a positive sign for one of Washington’s biggest offseason additions.<\/p>\n

With McLaurin sidelined in Week 5, Samuel was quarterback Jayden Daniels’ top target on Sunday against the Chargers. He was targeted 11 times, resulting in eight catches for 96 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

Samuel is the team’s leader in receptions (30), receiving yards (300), and receiving touchdowns (3), and would be a significant loss for Washington this week.<\/p>\n

Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane have played understudy to Washington’s receivers this season, while Lane is also serving as the Commanders’ punt returner.<\/p>\n

McCaffrey has recorded seven receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns this season, including a 50-yard bomb to end the half against the Chargers last Sunday.<\/p>\n

Lane has had a quieter year at receiver, tallying six catches for 45 yards, and has yet to find the end zone on a catch. However, he ran back a 90-yard punt return in Washington’s Week 3 win against Las Vegas, and has recorded 177 punt return yards on the season.<\/p>\n

Washington will have one final practice on Saturday before its Monday night matchup with Chicago at home\u2014one final chance to see if any of the Commanders’ starting receivers’ injury status will shift.<\/p>\n
