Pelissero hints at potential timeline for Brock Purdy\u2019s new deal with 49ers<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cAre they within the realm of, hey, if they agree to something right now, it could get done quickly? Yeah, but they\u2019re not there just yet,\u201d Pelissero said. \u201cI would anticipate it\u2019s going to come to a head sometime before the start of training camp, potentially sooner than that. I do anticipate that it\u2019s going to be somewhere in the [$50-million-dollar range].\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEach receiver had one opportunity to catch a deep pass. Owens was first. He ran a fade route up the left sideline but didn\u2019t get open or fight for the ball at the catch point, so it got intercepted by the safety.<\/p>\n

Neyor was next. He lined up in the slot, ran a fade toward the sideline, left the cornerback in his dust, made a fingertip catch and ran for a 60-yard touchdown. He looked like Julio Jones. Ok, maybe that\u2019s a stretch. But he was impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I met him during his first group interview, I saw a giant, one of the biggest human beings I\u2019ve ever met. Turns out Brown was incredibly nimble for his size and was almost impossible to beat in pass protection, particularly when he was young and healthy. But he wasn\u2019t always healthy because he was so big. Now, he\u2019s on the Houston Texans. So, he\u2019s had a successful career.<\/p>\n

Which brings us back to his younger cousin, 49ers\u2019 second-round pick Alfred Collins. I had the same impression of him this week at rookie minicamp that I had of Brown 10 years ago. Huge. Not chilesed. Not polished.
