Last month, NBC Sports Bay Area reported that Denver Broncos<\/a> linebacker Dre Greenlaw suffered a “torn quadriceps” while working out, an injury that could “force him to miss a portion of the upcoming 2025 NFL season<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Local reporters in Denver soon clarified that Greenlaw had actually strained his quad<\/a> and would be sidelined for weeks, not months. Broncos<\/a> coach Sean Payton confirmed that at rookie minicamp over the weekend, seemingly taking a shot at the original report in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s on schedule,” Payton said of Greenlaw’s recovery. “I saw the early reports, and you don\u2019t know how tempted I get sometimes\u2026 But I showed great restraint. He\u2019s doing well and will be a full participant in training camp. All of that\u2019s doing great, but I refrained.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greenlaw signed a three-year, $31.5 million contract with the Broncos this offseason. He is expected to serve as the team’s No. 1 inside linebacker this fall.<\/p>\n
