The\u00a0Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>‘ trade with the Chicago Bears at last year’s NFL trade deadline<\/a> saw the final piece of the puzzle slot into place during the 2025 NFL draft.<\/p>\n

There, the Chicago Bears used the No. 233 pick in the seventh round that was originally Cincinnati’s on Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai.<\/p>\n

The Bengals<\/a> made that rare in-season trade in response to the season-ending injury to Zack Moss. Herbert carried the ball 28 times over eight appearances, then signed with the Indianapolis Colts in free agency this offseason.<\/p>\n

Maybe the Bengals would’ve waited until Round 7 to grab a running back if they had still owned their pick. Instead, they grabbed Tahj Brooks at No. 193 in the sixth round<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Overall, it didn’t appear to have that big of an impact on things, especially considering the Bengals got some major wins at positions of need in undrafted free agency<\/a> anyway.<\/p>\n
