The Denver Broncos offense, led by head coach Sean Payton, has had two good quarters the last two weeks.<\/p>\n

The fourth in Philadelphia was special, rallying over the defending champion Eagles with a 21-17 victory.<\/p>\n

And the first against the New York Jets was decent, taking a 10-6 lead after 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the first three quarters in Philly were bad, as well as the final three on Sunday in London. Luckily, the Denver defense played out of its mind<\/a> to hold on for a 13-11 win.<\/p>\n

After practice on Wednesday, Sean Payton was asked about those large gaps of time in which the Broncos seemingly can\u2019t move the football.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s something that we\u2019ve got to have a heightened awareness to and attention to detail,\u201d Payton said. \u201cIt\u2019s the little things, it\u2019s reducing in the plan. That has to happen fast.\u201d<\/p>\n

Payton knows the Denver offense needs to wake up. Winning is always fun, but it\u2019s already putting a lot of stress on the defense.<\/p>\n

Plus, penalties have been an issue for the Broncos this season. They have 49 total against them for 448 yards through six games. That\u2019s near the very top of the NFL in both categories.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sean Payton was asked about cleaning those up because they\u2019ve plagued Denver for all of 2025 thus far.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to look internally first, alright. Are we doing too much? How do we reduce the variables? And then, are there repeat offenders? Obviously, we\u2019ve got to address it during practice if we see it,\u201d Payton said.<\/p>\n

Clearly, the penalties are driving Payton nuts, just like the fans. He knows it\u2019s on him and the staff to fix it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it continues to happen, then as a coach or a teacher, we\u2019ve not done a good enough job addressing it. And so, we understand its significance,\u201d Payton said.<\/p>\n

Luckily, the Broncos are 4-2 and right in the mix for an AFC playoff spot and perhaps even a high-seed<\/a>. However, Sean Payton needs to help the offense get rolling, ideally with fewer flags on the field.<\/p>\n
