{"id":46234,"date":"2025-05-13T07:51:15","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T07:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/46234\/"},"modified":"2025-05-13T07:51:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T07:51:15","slug":"superfan-chiefsaholic-sentenced-to-32-years-for-oklahoma-bank-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/46234\/","title":{"rendered":"Superfan &#8216;ChiefsAholic&#8217; sentenced to 32 years for Oklahoma bank robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Xaviar Babudar, the Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as \u201cChiefsAholic\u201d will be spending even more time in jail<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/45115109\/xaviar-babudar-aka-chiefsaholic-gets-32-years-okla-robbery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Babudar was sentenced on Monday in Oklahoma to 32 years in prison<\/a>, more than two years after authorities caught him in the state fleeing from a local bank robbery.<\/p>\n<p>ChiefsAholic is already serving a 17\u00bd-year federal sentence for bank robbery in a whopping seven different states from 2022-23.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Xaviar Babudar, known to football fans as \u201cChiefsAholic,\u201d was arrested in December for bank robbery. Tulsa County Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>His new 32-year sentence is concurrent with his past 17\u00bd-year sentence \u2014 meaning that he will serve the remaining 14-plus years of his second sentence after the first one ends.<\/p>\n<p>The Tulsa County district attorney\u2019s office sought a life sentence for the 30-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>Xaviar Babudar, otherwise known as \u201cChiefsAholic,\u201d was sentenced to 32 years in prison on Thursday. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was offensive to me,\u201d said Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler in a statement. \u201cThat a serial robber could victimize as many hardworking Americans as this guy did all across the country and only receive 17\u00bd years from the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy preference was for him to serve the rest of his life in prison. He caught another break today, but at least he\u2019s going to be serving some additional time, and my thoughts are with the victims who continue to be tormented by his violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Xaviar Babudar, a Chiefs superfan known as ChiefsAholic, dressed up in a full-body wolf costume for games. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Babudar\u2019s attorneys, Brett and Jay-Michael Swab, felt quite differently, saying, \u201c[The prosecution] wanted him to die in prison. Our entire position from the beginning is that we want to live in a world where everybody\u2019s treated equally, not based on notoriety or social media presence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The attorneys claimed that Babudar\u2019s bank robberies were fueled by a gambling addiction and a troubled homeless childhood.<\/p>\n<p>Babudar was one of the most popular superfans at Chiefs games, always sporting his signature gray wolf mask and suit. \u201cChiefsAholic\u201d would be seen on the jumbotron riling up fans and had built up a strong social media following.<\/p>\n<p>ChiefsAholic, Xaviar Babudar, was arrested after a spree of bank robberies. Instagram \/ Chiefsaholic<\/p>\n<p>Babudar requested to be jailed at a federal prison in Illinois, but was denied.
