The Cleveland Browns will be without star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah due to a neck injury he suffered during the middle of last season after putting a hit on Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old missed the final nine games of the 2024 season and will now miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign after the Browns designated him to the Reserve\/PUP list.<\/p>\n

Cleveland shared Owusu-Koramoah’s public statement on the news via its X account on Monday, May 12, with a six-word message to the 2023 Pro Bowler and former second-round pick.<\/p>\n
“Got your back no matter what,” the Browns wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n “To the Cleveland Browns fanbase and my supporters worldwide \u2014 thank you for your patience in my silence. From day one, you embraced me as more than a player, but also as a brother and young man with purpose,\u201d Owusu-Koramoa said<\/a>. “While I won\u2019t suit up this season, I\u2019m focused on what I can control \u2014 my healing, my mindset and my faith. The body may rest, but the calling never sleeps. I\u2019ve given my heart to this game. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s next, but I\u2019ll continue trusting my medical team, serving the community and backing my brothers on the field.”<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n The Browns selected linebacker Carson Schwesinger out of UCLA with the No. 33 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, who will potentially fill in for Owusu-Koramoah (a Pro Bowler in 2023) in a starting role as a rookie.<\/p>\n Schwesinger put up\u00a090 solo tackles<\/a>, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, three pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble during his junior campaign in college.<\/p>\n
