Luke McBride threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns, Van Hopping rushed for 141 yards and a score and the Lake Travis defense recorded 10 sacks as the\u00a0Cavs defeated Westlake for the first time since 2019 with a 31-10 win at Chaparral Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lake Travis (8-0, 4-0 District 26-6A) held Westlake to negative rushing yardage and less than 250 yards of total offense as it constantly put pressure on Chaps quarterback Rees Wise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Westin Smith caught four passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns for the Cavs, who led 13-7 at halftime after Hopping scored on a 20-yard run and an 18-yard reception.\u00a0<\/p>\n
McBride hooked up with Smith on scoring strikes of 38 and 48 yards in the third quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wise ended with 240 yards and a touchdown passing to lead Westlake (6-2, 3-1).\u00a0<\/p>\n
