THE NFL has scheduled a revenge game for Week 1 of the season.<\/p>\n

Aaron Rodgers<\/a> and Justin Fields<\/a> have a chance to take down their former teams in the first game of the season.<\/p>\n

The Steelers and Jets are reportedly scheduled for Week 1 setting up Aaron Rodgers vs Justin FieldsCredit: Getty<\/p>\n

The NFL<\/a> schedule has yet to be released, but certain matchups are starting to leak<\/p>\n

Among those games is a Week 1 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> and New York Jets.<\/p>\n

According to Jets insider Matt O’Leary<\/a>, the Jets will be travelling to Pittsburgh for their opening game.<\/p>\n

This game, scheduled for 1 pm ET, sets up some great storylines to start the season.<\/p>\n

This offseason, the Jets<\/a> met with Rodgers and told him to pack his bags.<\/p>\n

New head coach Aaron Glenn wanted to move in a different direction at the quarterback position.<\/p>\n

That new direction came in the form of Fields, who left the Steelers in favor of the Jets.<\/p>\n

Fields started six games in 2024 for the Jets and went 4-2 in that time.<\/p>\n

He passed for 1,106 yards in those games with five touchdowns and one interception.<\/p>\n

Fields also rushed for 289 yards with five more touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Steelers all-but confirm Aaron Rodgers move as Mike Tomlin targets wide receiver who is QB\u2019s \u2018go to guy\u2019<\/p>\n

However, he was benched in Week 7 in favor of Russell Wilson<\/a>, who went 6-5 in the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rodgers had a bounce back season after tearing his Achilles in 2023.<\/p>\n

He passed for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.<\/p>\n

Despite the solid season, the Jets finished the year at just 5-11 and Rodgers wasn’t retained for 2025.<\/p>\n

He is not yet a member of the Steelers, but it is almost inevitable that he signs with the team and plays against his former squad.<\/p>\n

If Rodgers does end up with the Steelers, fans are extremely excited by him playing against his old squad and shared their thoughts on social media.<\/p>\n

“Aaron rodgers is gonna put up 50 on that poverty franchise,” one fan said.<\/p>\n

“NFL know what they’re doing,” another fan said.<\/p>\n

“Of course Rodgers returns to Met Life week 1. He\u2019s going to absolutely torch us,” a third fan said.<\/p>\n
