{"id":50114,"date":"2025-05-14T19:09:10","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T19:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/50114\/"},"modified":"2025-05-14T19:09:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T19:09:10","slug":"former-alabama-running-back-signs-historic-contract-extension-with-nfl-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/50114\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Alabama running back signs historic contract extension with NFL team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to multiple reports Wednesday afternoon, former <a href=\"https:\/\/rolltidewire.usatoday.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Alabama Crimson Tide;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Alabama Crimson Tide<\/a> running back Derrick Henry has signed a multi-year contract extension with the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/baltimore-ravens\/366\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Baltimore Ravens;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Baltimore Ravens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Henry, who was set to become a free agent after this upcoming season, has reportedly signed a two-year extension with the Ravens that will keep the former <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/ncaaf\/teams\/alabama-crimson-tide\/3478\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Alabama;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Alabama<\/a> star in Baltimore. According to reports, the deal is worth $30 million, and includes $25 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>This is also a noteworthy deal for Henry as it is the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over 30 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The former Alabama standout has already compiled a storied NFL career since entering the league back in 2016 as a second round pick by the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/tennessee-titans\/336\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Tennessee Titans;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Tennessee Titans<\/a>.
