For the second time in as many weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> gave up a go-ahead score inside two minutes in regulation to lose. In Week 8, it was a 39-38 loss to the New York Jets<\/a>. In Week 9, it was a 47-42 loss to the Chicago Bears<\/a>.<\/p>\n Once again, Cincinnati’s offense had an outstanding day. The Bengals put up a season-high 495 yards of offense behind quarterback Joe Flacco and a stable of talent.<\/p>\n They’re now 3-6 entering their bye. With eight games left in the regular season, Bengals fans have to be wondering how soon franchise quarterback Joe Burrow<\/a> can come back.<\/p>\n Burrow’s Grade 3 turf toe injury<\/a>\u00a0in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> put him on injured reserve (IR) for the last two months.<\/p>\n After losing three games in a row without Burrow in the lineup, Cincinnati traded for Flacco from the Browns<\/a> to get a change at quarterback. Flacco has led them to one win in four games since taking over the starting job.<\/p>\n Time’s running out for Burrow to come back and help keep the Bengals’ playoff hopes alive. Here’s the latest on his status.<\/p>\n How long is Joe Burrow out?<\/p>\n Bengals coach Zac Taylor spoke about Burrow’s status ahead of the team’s Week 8 game against New York.<\/p>\n “He\u2019s been good. I don\u2019t have any updates [on the progress]. It\u2019s gone as we had hoped,” Taylor said.<\/p>\n “He\u2019s had a great attitude, great energy about him. He\u2019s in the meetings, met with him one-on-one, he\u2019s been great to be around, optimistic and things have been going well, but I don\u2019t have any update on the timeline.”<\/p>\n Burrow had surgery on his toe on Sept. 19 with a predicted three-month recovery. Three months from that date would be Dec. 19 \u2013 two days before the Bengals’ Week 16 game against Miami<\/a>.<\/p>\n That would be the earliest. He may need more than two days to ramp up for the game, pushing his return date to Week 17 at home against the Arizona Cardinals<\/a>.<\/p>\n
