JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 The NFL released the 2025 schedule on Wednesday night and now Jaguars fans can map out their season. Here\u2019s a look at Jacksonville\u2019s schedule, <\/a>including a Monday night showdown against the Chiefs. <\/p>\n

The News4JAX sports staff predicts what it thinks the Jaguars will do in 2025. <\/p>\n

Record: 9-8<\/p>\n

When I ran through the first batch of the schedule, I had Jacksonville winning 11 games. But I had to temper that back down. I think the Jaguars are closer to contending than being a teardown job, but I don\u2019t think they\u2019re going to pull off what the Commanders did last season. Trevor Lawrence still needs to show that he can be consistent. The defense was atrocious last season. I do believe that a new coaching staff will account for better playcalling and a more unified leadership. I see a tough start for the Jaguars, but things will smooth out in the second half. Looking at the schedule, I see a similar start like Doug Pederson\u2019s first year; struggles early (2-5) before a 7-3 finish. I don\u2019t think they win the AFC South but I do think they finish behind the Texans and nab a wild-card berth. <\/p>\n

Record: 10-7<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t say it enough: I believe in first-year head coaches being able to surprise people. I\u2019m pretty happy with how the Jaguars schedule fell. But it will be a rough early. I have them at 3-4 when they get to the bye week, so I\u2019m sure folks will be a little on the fence. But the second half of the schedule is much more friendly. I think they roll the rest of the way, get hot and finish hot. I have them winning seven games down the stretch, enough to win the AFC South and earn a spot in the postseason. I\u2019d say that is a pretty successful first season for Liam Coen. Wouldn\u2019t you? <\/p>\n

P.S.: Let\u2019s get crazy I think Travis Hunter wins offensive and defensive rookie of the year. <\/p>\n

I say it all the time, I\u2019m usually not a fan of predicting records, especially not when it comes to the Jaguars. But this year? It just feels different. There\u2019s a different \u201caura\u201d to this team. A first-year head coach in Liam Coen, a first-time GM in James Gladstone, and a bold move up the draft board to grab Travis Hunter. It all screams fresh start. <\/p>\n

And there\u2019s real energy around this group right now. The kind of energy you can\u2019t fake. Fans feel it. The city feels it. And I\u2019d bet the locker room feels it, too. I\u2019ve got the Jags still trying to figure it out early, starting out 4-3 going into the bye week. It\u2019s not great, but not a disaster either. The early slates tough and some of those games could go either way. But after the break? I think they figure it out. I don\u2019t see them sweeping any AFC South opponent this year, but I do think they find a groove, and rattle off six wins down the stretch. That would put them at 10\u20137, good enough to win the AFC South and potentially snag a playoff spot. <\/p>\n
