The disappointing debut season for Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> rookie Shemar Stewart continues going into Week 11 with his status in doubt for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stewart officially classifies as \u201cweek-to-week\u201d with a knee injury, according to Bengals<\/a> head coach Zac Taylor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Back in Week before the bye, Stewart suffered the knee injury<\/a>, a development at the time that didn\u2019t get much in the way of attention for a 3-6 team with much bigger concerns during a bye week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So far, Stewart has logged just five games as a rookie. That was after missing an important chunk of time during the summer and preseason due to the contract standoff with the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a result, Stewart has even been described as in the “infant stage” of development<\/a> within the program by defensive coordinator Al Golden.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While this far from spoils Stewart\u2019s long-term prospects as a pro, he needs the developmental reps and the Bengals could certainly use an uptick in pass-rushing production on the edges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
