The Buffalo Bills are set to welcome back a familiar face. Wide receiver Gabe Davis has been elevated from the practice squad for tomorrow\u2019s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, marking a key step in his return to the field.<\/p>\n
Davis, who spent the 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, suffered a season ending knee injury in November last year. The Jaguars ended up releasing Davis this past May.<\/p>\n
Davis was signed to the Bills\u2019 practice squad in September, where he has been rehabbing and ramping up his workload while preparing to make a comeback. When asked about his return, Davis said he is \u201cready to go.\u201d This will be the first of Davis\u2019 three eligible practice squad elevations.<\/p>\n
Davis\u2019 call-up should provide Josh Allen with someone he can trust and is familiar with. The team desperately needs someone who can stretch the field. If active on gameday, this will be Davis\u2019 first game back in a Bills uniform since 2023. While in Buffalo, Davis caught 163 passes for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns across 64 regular-season games. He added 24 receptions for 464 yards and six touchdowns in postseason play.<\/p>\n
In addition to elevating Davis, the Bills also elevated tight end Keleki Latu from the practice squad. Latu, 23, spent the preseason with Buffalo.
