If Michigan football<\/a> is going to win its fifth consecutive game against Ohio State, it will have to be a big upset \u2013 at least if you listen to the oddsmakers.<\/p>\n

The Wolverines<\/a> opened as 11-point point underdogs for the season finale in Ann Arbor against the Buckeyes<\/a> on Saturday, Nov. 29 (Fox, Noon), according to Circa Sports in Las Vegas.<\/a><\/p>\n

Michigan has not been this large of an underdog since Alabama opened as nearly a two-touchdown favorite against Sherrone Moore\u2019s team in last year\u2019s ReliaQuest Bowl, which U-M ultimately won, 19-13.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Wolverines were an even bigger underdog the game before that, when OSU was a 23.5-point favorite against Michigan in last years clash in Columbus. That game, of course, ended as one of the greatest upsets in Michigan football history, with U-M stunning Ohio State, 13-10, at “The Horseshoe.”<\/p>\n

Michigan should not be rattled by the fact it\u2019s not expected to come out on top, given it has been an underdog in all four of its consecutive victories over the Buckeyes.<\/p>\n

That said, Michigan has not done well this year when Las Vegas picks against it. U-M is 0-2 in games it entered as an underdog in 2025, falling 24-13 to Oklahoma in Week 2 and losing 31-13 to USC in Week 6. Both of those games were on the road.<\/p>\n

STARTING TO ROLL: Michigan football ready for Ohio State: ‘Peak at the perfect time’<\/a><\/p>\n

Michigan is 9-0 as a favorite this season and an unblemished 5-0 in home games. Moore\u2019s group has won five consecutive games overall in the back half of the season, including its most comprehensive game of the year in Week 13, a 45-20 victory over Maryland in College Park.<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, it’s time for the biggest game of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t prepare for \u2018The Game\u2019 the week of the game,\u201d Moore said. \u201cIt\u2019s got to happen in January, it\u2019s got to happen in March, in the summer. If you try to shift the way you prepare that week, then it\u2019s too late. We\u2019ve been doing this for a while, but we got to focus in from a game plan standpoint of what we\u2019re going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michigan football vs Ohio State football prediction<\/p>\n

Michigan’s offense has started to click the past two weeks, picking up nearly 500 yards at Northwestern and scoring 45 against Maryland, its most in league play all year. The Wolverines have had the Buckeyes in a mental pretzel for half a decade, but there’s a reason OSU is the top team in the land. The pick is subject to change given the health of OSU stars Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, both of whom are questionable at this point, but the Buckeyes have a lot of firepower either way. It’s all or nothing for U-M. A win and the Wolverines are almost certainly in the College Football Playoff. A loss? It’s probably going back to Florida for a bowl game. Michigan is trending up but has not showed the ability to stay with the big dogs (Oklahoma and USC) that have enough talent to keep up on every play.\u00a0The pick:\u00a0Ohio State 27, Michigan 20.<\/p>\n
