The trade that brought Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson to town can only be described as an unmitigated disaster.<\/p>\n
Even owner Jimmy Haslam finally admitted at the owner’s meeting earlier this year that the trade was a failure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe took a big swing-and-miss with Deshaun,\u201d Haslam said recently<\/a> at the league\u2019s annual meeting. \u201cWe thought we had the quarterback; we didn\u2019t. And we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him, so we\u2019ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 [The trade] was an entire organization decision and it ends with Dee [Haslam] and I, so hold us accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n After ending his 2024 season early with a torn Achilles tendon in October, Watson re-tore the Achilles in January, virtually ending his 2025 season before it began, and jeopardizing his future with the Browns and in the NFL.<\/p>\n But while he is rehabbing, he’s making plans with long-time girlfriend,\u00a0Jilly Anais.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Back in March she posted pictures with Watson and announced their engagement.
