The 49ers and Brock Purdy<\/a> agreed to a five-year, $265 million contract extension<\/a> on May 16. This is the latest extension handed out by the 49ers following a four-year, $76.4 million extension to tight end George Kittle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Purdy is entering his third season as the 49ers’ starting quarterback. He was the final pick (seventh round, No. 262 overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State and started that season after injuries to Trey Lance<\/a> and Jimmy Garoppolo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Injuries forced him to miss regular season games for the first time in 2024. In 36 regular season starts, he’s gone 23-13 with Pro Bowl honors in 2023.<\/p>\n
