Best AFC 2025 NFL Draft picks<\/p>\n

The Houston Texans<\/a>\u00a0are searching for a third consecutive AFC South title in 2025.<\/p>\n Since drafting C.J. Stroud<\/a> second overall, the\u00a0Texans<\/a>\u00a0have improved tremendously but the offense has undergone a makeover heading into the new season.<\/p>\n Houston traded five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil<\/a> this offseason to the Washington Commanders\u00a0for a package of draft picks. Stroud was sacked 52 times last season and the team signed veterans\u00a0Cam Robinson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Trent Brown<\/a> in hopes of bolstering the unit.<\/p>\n Wide receiver\u00a0Stefon Diggs<\/a>\u00a0signed with the\u00a0Patriots<\/a>\u00a0in free agency, and\u00a0Tank Dell<\/a>\u00a0is expected to miss most of the 2025 season recovering from a brutal knee injury. In early March, the Texans traded a seventh-round pick<\/a> for veteran receiver Christian Kirk<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Texans drafted wide receivers Jayden Higgins<\/a> and Jaylin Noel<\/a> in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft to provide depth behind Kirk and budding star Nico Collins<\/a>. They also landed Aireontae Ersery<\/a> in the second round, who was viewed as one of the top offensive linemen in the draft.<\/p>\n Veteran running back Joe Mixon<\/a> will return and lead the backfield.<\/p>\n Will the Texans be legitimate contenders in the AFC under the leadership of DeMeco Ryans? The Texans went 5-1 in the AFC South in 2024 and that seems repeatable.<\/p>\n They will face the AFC West and NFC West in non-divisional play, though, which is a tough slate of games. Three AFC West teams made the playoffs in 2024 and the NFC West could be tougher in 2025 with improvements in health and talent for those teams.<\/p>\n Outside of that, Houston plays reigning division champions Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Baltimore. None of those will be easy contests, even with the Bills and Buccaneers games being played in Houston.<\/p>\n Still, we think they’ll take a step forward in the win column from their 10-7 season last year.
