LSU has officially inked Lamar Brown<\/a>, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n

Brown was courted by programs all over the country, but his recruitment ultimately came down to the Tigers and Texas A&M down the stretch in July and again after Brian Kelly was fired in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n

LSU was the first Power 4 offer to arrive for the Five-Star Plus+ athlete, who has shined at offensive and defensive line during his four years as a starter at Baton Rouge powerhouse University Lab, which sits on the foot of LSU\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n

Brown logged nearly a dozen visits to College Station between his junior season and his decision, and at various points, even named Texas A&M as his leader. <\/p>\n

Ultimately, Brown followed the path to LSU and will mark one of the biggest recruiting victories in program history. <\/p>\n

The Erwinville, La. native was in Tiger Stadium for every single home game after committing to LSU this summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing from the 225, to play in Baton Rouge, in the state of Louisiana, on a Saturday night in Death Valley with the city on my back \u2026 to have the chance to play there and win a national championship there would be great,\u201d Brown told\u00a0Rivals\u00a0of his decision to commit to the Tigers.<\/p>\n

\u2026 Being a kid from the area, not everyone has the opportunity to stay home and play for the home team,\u201d he continued. \u201cTo have the chance to play for the home team, to be able to shine on Saturdays \u2026 it\u2019s a dream and it means a lot for any Louisiana kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Kelly was fired, Brown reaffirmed his commitment to LSU despite Texas A&M and other programs like Miami making late efforts to reel in the elite DL prospect. He delayed his signing from Wednesday\u2019s National Signing Day to have a chance to meet with new coach Lane Kiffin and get more clarity on the future of the Tigers\u2019 coaching staff. With those assurances in place, he inked on Friday afternoon, and LSU made it official soon after. <\/p>\n
