It\u2019s easy to reminisce on what could have been with Justin Fields or Russell Wilson \u2014 but the most intriguing question heading into the 2025 season is: who will find more post-Steelers<\/a> success?<\/p>\n

Fields will reunite with his former college teammate WR Garrett Wilson, but the Jets<\/a> suffer from a similar issue the Steelers know all too well \u2014 a lack of receiver talent outside of WR1. Besides Wilson, Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds are the top receiving threats on offense, hardly a recipe for success for a young QB moving to his third NFL team in three years.<\/p>\n

Wilson doesn’t have this issue in the slightest, as while he needs to hold off former Browns<\/a> QB Jameis Winston and Giants<\/a> first-round pick QB Jaxson Dart for the starting job, he has a plethora of talented pass catchers to work with \u2014 such as Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Darius Slayton.<\/p>\n

At tight end, Wilson and Fields benefit equally \u2014 as both Giants TE Theo Johnson and Jets rookie TE Mason Taylor equally possess raw talent but are unproven.<\/p>\n

Both the Jets’ and Giants’ running back rooms may also have a similar impact on the two QBs’ success \u2014 as the gap between Jets RB Breece Hall and Giants second-year RB Tyrone Tracy is closer than many realize.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, while Wilson may have the edge at wide receiver, the Jets have a better offensive line in play for Fields. The Giants\u2019 O-line was responsible for the second-highest pressure rate in the NFL \u2014 which won’t do the less-mobile 36-year-old Wilson any favors.<\/p>\n

Wilson may have an edge when it comes to playing on a more complete offense, but Fields, a more athletic signal-caller, could find tremendous success under HC Aaron Glenn. Who do you think will have more success after their Steel City exit?<\/p>\n
