The construction of the NFL schedule<\/a> is a complicated process, and it’s not always fair to some teams.<\/p>\n

Some teams, like last year’s Kansas City Chiefs, have had to deal with playing three games in 11 days. Much more common is the lack of equity in how far certain teams have to travel compared to others.<\/p>\n

For example, when teams in the AFC West and NFC West have away games against East Coast opponents, or vice versa, the miles can accumulate quickly from all of the cross-country flying. Add in the NFL’s efforts to market football internationally<\/a>, and some teams aren’t just flying across the country but across the world.<\/p>\n

As such, some teams are traveling much more than others in 2025.<\/p>\n

There’s a difference of more than 25,000 miles between the team traveling the most air miles (Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>) and the team traveling the fewest (Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>) this year. Put another way; the Chargers will have traveled more than four times the number of miles that the Bengals will have traveled by the end of the 2025 regular season.<\/p>\n

Here’s how each team’s travel mileage shakes out in 2025:<\/p>\n

Here’s how many air miles each team will rack up during the 2025 regular season, according to Bookies.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Chargers: 37,086<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Colts: 25,089<\/p>\n

Kansas City Chiefs: 21,695<\/p>\n

Las Vegas Raiders: 18,055<\/p>\n

Cincinnati Bengals: 8,753<\/p>\n

The Chargers and Rams lead the way significantly, which is no surprise given the international games on the calendar for each team. The “Bolts” begin their season in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil in a divisional clash with the Chiefs<\/a>, while the Rams will head to London in October<\/a> to play the Jaguars.<\/p>\n

Being teams from the West Coast slated to play games against the NFC East \u2013 as the Chargers are \u2013 and NFC South \u2013 as the Rams are \u2013 also adds some extra miles.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Bengals are the only team set to travel fewer than 10,000 miles this year. The furthest west they have to travel is Denver for a Week 4<\/a> “Monday Night Football” meeting against the Broncos<\/a>. The remainder of their away games are in the Midwest (vs. NFC North teams) and along the East Coast (against AFC East teams).<\/p>\n

Bookies.com Senior Betting Analyst Bill Speros also clarified these numbers are totals for roundtrip flights \u2013 to and from each game’s destination.<\/p>\n
